The Creative Orkney Trail is the perfect way to explore our islands.
You can discover the amazing arts and crafts makers and designers that thrive in these inspirational islands, and at the same time soak up the sensational scenery and landscapes that make Orkney so special.
The Trail was launched in 1996 to showcase the work of Creative Orkney members and these days covers everything from jewellery, ceramics and artwork, to textiles, tapestry and traditional Orkney chair-making.
Special roadside signs mark the trail throughout the islands, with twenty-five stops spread across five islands. Workshops and studios offer open doors to visitors who are welcome to walk in and see crafts being made first hand. Our makers are always happy to talk you through their processes and what it is about Orkney that inspires their work. They might even give you some tips on their favourite sites and attractions.
Use our map above, and download our brochure below, to find out where you can see Orkney’s creative community at work, and begin your islands adventure.
