The Orkney Charitable Trust is set to get a funding boost. From 1st July 2016 three Daisy collections designed by Sheila Fleet will contribute to the Orkney Charitable Trust.
The Trust provides financial support to people under 25 living in Orkney who are experiencing ill health or hardship.
The Sheila Fleet charitable collections are Daisies at Dawn, Coloured Daisies and Diamond Daisies.
These collections initially supported Emily Findlay from Orphir. A former employee of Sheila's, Emily underwent treatment over many years for a rare form of cancer.
Thankfully Emily is doing well and both she and Sheila wish to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the Daisies. Over the last two years contributions from the Daisies have raised £50,000 for Emily's Fund at the Orkney Charitable Trust and around half of this has already been paid out to support Emily and her family. The funds remaining are reserved for any future treatment Emily may require.
Now as requests for help reach the Orkney Charitable Trust, Sheila and Emily’s thoughts have turned to assisting other local youngsters in need.
