Visitors to Orkney this year are being encouraged to cast their votes in the 2024 Orkney Tourism Awards and highlight local businesses, attractions and services that helped make their trips to the islands so special.
Voting for the awards, organised by Destination Orkney, is open now with eight different categories available, including best visitor attraction, best hotel experience, and best outdoor or adventure experience.
Local folk can take part too, with shortlists for best eating experience and tourism individual of the year also on offer. Members of the public can submit their votes on Orkney.com and be in with a chance to win a hamper packed with Orkney products, or scan a QR-code displayed by participating tourism businesses.
Nominations will remain open until December 2024, and the winners will receive their awards at a special celebration early in the New Year. They’ll also be put forward by Destination Orkney for the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards and the Thistle Awards.
The Orkney Tourism Awards were launched in 2022 to recognise excellence within the local tourism sector. Thousands of votes were cast last time around and it’s hoped this year’s version will capture the imagination once again.
