Have you enjoyed some fabulous food experiences in Orkney? Is there a delicious local product that you just can’t get enough of?
If so, now’s the time to celebrate your favourites with voting open for the 2026 Orkney Food & Drink Awards.
The biennial awards recognise the hard work and dedication from Orkney’s talented producers and turns the spotlight on the incredible range of food and drink products on offer across the islands.
This year there are thirteen awards categories available, covering everything from best bar meal and bakery, to best café, catering van, and kid’s meal. Voters can also nominate their favourite a-la-carte meal, food shops, and takeaways.
It all comes down to the public vote so local folk and visitors to Orkney over the coming months are being encouraged to take part. Voting is open now on Orkney.com and eligible businesses will have QR codes on display (copied below) for easy access to the voting page.
Kerry Leask, project manager for Orkney Food & Drink, said: “The Orkney Food & Drink Awards have gone from strength to strength each year, with thousands of votes received across all our categories. It shows how popular our local producers, retailers, and eateries are with the public, and how passionate folk are about supporting them.
"If you’ve had a positive food and drink experience in Orkney already this year, or if you’re planning a visit this summer and sample some of our fantastic products, we’d love for you to get involved and cast your votes,”
Voting closes on 13 September 2026 and the nominees shortlist will be published on Orkney.com soon after, ahead of the gala event in Kirkwall on 17 October 2026.
