A special partnership between two acclaimed Orkney brands has led to the creation of a beautiful blanket, handmade in the islands.
Highland Park and local textile design studio, Hilary Grant, have worked together to produce the exclusive blanket which is inspired by Hobbister, the heather rich moorland where the distillery sources the peat that defines the distinctive flavour of its whisky.
The collaboration unites two distinctive Orkney brands that share the same commitment to balancing innovation with time-honoured tradition. It's part of Highland Park's ongoing celebration of the people and creative culture of Orkney. It has partnered with a number of local makers and artists over recent months to showcase the islands' unique character and community that inspires its award-winning whisky.
The Hobbister blanket reflects the colours, textures, and patterns of the landscape at Hobbister, overlooking Scapa Flow. It was designed, knitted, and hand-finished entirely in Hilary Grant's knitwear factory in Orkney's West Mainland using the finest Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified 100% lambswool yarns, spun and dyed in Scotland.
"Hobbister is one of our favourite walking haunts," said Hilary Grant. "It's a really special place with so many native flowers and plants as well as the heather. We really wanted to create something that reflects its character as a vast tapestry of colour."

The Hobbister blanket is sold exclusively from Highland Park retail outlets and costs £250.
