Two knitwear companies from Orkney, Hume Sweet Hume and Hilary Grant will be taking part in "In The Loop", a conference that aims celebrate Scotland's prominent place in the history of knitting.
The conference is organised by a group of academic researchers within the School of Humanties at the University of Glasgow who are researching the social, cultural and economic history behind Scottish knitting and knitwear as part of their Phd theses.
The aim of the conference is to foster relationships between various sectors: business; heritage; education; craft tourism; culture and the arts through a series of workshops, presentation and seminars from leading international figures from the knitwear industry, including manufacturers, designers, artists and academic researchers.
Orkney knitwear companies Hume Sweet Hume and Hilary Grant will be participating in the closing fashion showcase on Friady, 28th of August.
