These beautiful baubles from the Beach Gallery are certain to brighten up any Christmas tree this festive season. Inspired by Orkney’s land, sea, and sky, each bauble is unique and hand-painted, coming in a mix of vibrant colours. They can be used for any celebration, but if you want yours before Christmas remember to get your order in as quickly as possible.

These tiny glass dishes featuring a bright red robin have a real festive feel. Each dish is made in Carrie Paxton's studio just outside Kirkwall, where she also crafts a wider range of designs featuring other aspects of nature found here in Orkney, including puffins, crabs, flowers, birds, and much more.

The Hoxa Tapestry Gallery overlooking Scapa Flow is full of stunning tapestries, drawings, paintings, and handcrafted rugs, all created by members of the talented Thomson family. Their range of greetings cards is inspired by these larger pieces, offering a unique take on a festive favourite.

Simone Kirk makes her range of soaps, shampoos, and balms from her home in Stronsay, one of Orkney’s north isles. Her products are paraben-free, responsibly sourced, never tested on animals, and come packed with nourishing oils and butters.

These handcrafted candle holders might have a practical purpose, but they’re also works of art in their own right. Inspired by the ripples of sand on Orkney’s beaches, Robin creates these pieces in his Kirkwall studio using Parian slip, which offers a beautiful warm glow when a tiny tea light is placed inside.

These stunning hand-dyed wools are perfect for knitters, spinners, and felters, providing a splash of colour to even the simplest designs. Pam from the Little Orkney Dye Shed mainly uses wools and fibres from North Ronaldsay, hand-dying them to reflect her keen eye for all things colourful.

Sometimes you might want to give someone a present with your tongue firmly in cheek, just for a bit of festive fun. If that sounds like you, Birsay-based artist and designer, Andrea Holmes, has created the perfect range. Inspired by a famously-named tiny settlement in Orkney’s West Mainland, her colourful hats, shot glasses, magnets, badges and more are sure to raise a smile this Christmas.

These beautiful gift sets from the Orkney Storehouse feature some of Orkney’s stunning birdlife, from oystercatchers to short-eared owls, drawn by local wildlife artist, Tim Wootton. The fine bone china mugs help bring a touch of the Orcadian outdoors to your table, and come perfectly coupled with the matching melamine coasters.

Rosalind Johansson is a talented textile artist based in the village of Finstown, where she creates beautiful quilts and felt items. Her colourful collection of greetings cards and felted brooches - some influenced by Orkney, and others by her worldwide travels - would brighten up any Christmas morning.

Known for her original paintings depicting scenes of Orkney, Jane Glue has expanded her range over recent years to include prints, jewellery, sketchbooks, and much more. Her latest ‘peedie gifts’ collection features ‘found’ items from local shorelines, including sea glass, shells, and dried seaweed. Jane also includes a piece of sea-washed pottery complete with an image of local wildlife, with designs ranging from puffins to sea pinks. It’s the perfect present for an exiled Orcadian, or someone who feels a connection to the islands.

Made It Orkney's wide range of original fused glass art features everything, from cats and dogs, to love hearts, flowers, and rainbows. Each piece is handmade in Orkney's East Mainland and offers a colourful reminder of the beauty of the islands. Soap dishes, vases, and much more are on offer too.
