Widefirth Cottage is a spacious and comfortable home, thoughtfully equipped for a relaxing stay in Orkney. Sleeping up to six guests, the cottage has three well-proportioned bedrooms – one double and two twin bedrooms – together with generous living spaces and excellent facilities throughout.

Living Room
The large, welcoming sitting room is light and airy during the summer months, while warm and cosy on cooler Orkney evenings. Comfortable seating provides plenty of space for everyone to relax, with a widescreen TV and DVD player for quieter evenings at the cottage.

Dining Room
A spacious separate dining room provides a lovely setting for meals together, with patio doors opening directly onto the patio and enclosed garden.

Kitchen
The generous kitchen is well equipped for self-catering, with a large built-in fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, conventional oven, electric hob and oven, electric mixer and coffee maker.

Utility Room
A separate utility room offers a washing machine, tumble dryer, additional sink and useful storage space – particularly convenient for longer stays and families.

Bedrooms
The master bedroom features a comfortable double bed and TV, with an adjoining accessible bathroom. The two spacious twin bedrooms each have generous built-in wardrobes and their own TV.

Bathrooms & Accessibility
Widefirth Cottage has two bathrooms. One has been thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind, featuring level access, a walk-in shower, shower seat and grab rails.

The spacious family bathroom offers a spa bath – perfect for a relaxing soak after a day exploring Orkney – together with a separate shower, heated towel rail and ample storage for towels and toiletries.

Garden & Outdoor Space
The large enclosed garden offers plenty of space to relax outdoors, with a separate barbecue area just off the patio and a dedicated drying area. Bird tables around the garden attract a wonderful variety of local birdlife.

Storage & Extras
A small outdoor shed is available for storing bicycles, fishing equipment and other outdoor gear. Inside, guests will also find a selection of DVDs, books about Orkney and useful local information, together with binoculars, maps and guides to help make the most of their stay.

Our location is ideal for exploring Orkney’s mainland and its Isles, with World Heritage archaeological sites, dramatic coastal walks, and breathtaking scenery. The Ring of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness, Skara Brae and Maes Howe are all within a 20-minute drive.

Locally, we have created a peaceful farm walk for guests who enjoy nature, fresh air and a glimpse of rural life. The route leads you past our animals - including sheep, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs - offering a relaxed insight into the daily rhythm of the smallholding.

Alongside the walk, you’ll find our information centre — well stocked with leaflets, guides and inspiration for exploring Orkney. With beautiful scenery throughout, it’s an ideal way to unwind and connect with the landscape during your stay.
