At Vorskaer you are right amongst the wildlife. Your bedroom window overlooks a reed fringed loch 20 metres away with many wildfowl and waders to be seen year round.
Otters are seen from time to time. The loch is separated from the sea by a narrow shingle bank where seals and seabirds are seen daily.
The house, completed in 2014, is built to the highest modern standards. The two spacious ensuite double rooms, one of which can be converted to twin if required, have elevated views over the loch, bay and wildlife.
Although only a 5 minute drive over the hill from Kirkwall, Vorskaer is at a road end and is intensely private with no through traffic other than the birds! We have been told that we live in the world's most luxurious bird hide! A relaxed atmosphere prevails.
Your hosts, Richard and Birthe Zawadski, have a lifetime's experience in the Orkney hospitality and wildlife watching business and run boat trips which depart from the bay right in front of the house.
