Thor and Freya of Orkney is a family-owned speciality coffee roaster based in Orkney, founded in December 2023 and named after our two children.

Inspired by our Orcadian and Ethiopian roots, our roaster, Lilly, grew up in Ethiopia - the birthplace of coffee - where coffee is a daily ritual of connection and hospitality. We focus exclusively on Ethiopian speciality coffee, making us the only roaster in Orkney dedicated solely to these exceptional origins.

Our coffees honour their heritage while aiming to support farmers and empower women in both Ethiopia and Orkney, connecting our two communities through coffee defined by heritage, quality, and purpose.
