Originally built around 1880 as a herring and pork curing store, the Storehouse is a grade B listed building situated just off Kirkwall's historic stone paved shopping street and very close to St Magnus Cathedral.

Welcome to our beautifully restored restaurant where you can sit back and watch our head chef Danny Cormack leading his team in our open kitchen, where they create their own unique dishes in-house.

We specialise in the best of Orkney produce and change our menus frequently, working closely with local seafood and meat suppliers who deliver direct to our kitchen doors. We have daily specials to make the most of what's in season.

We are fully licenced with a cosy seating area featuring traditional Orkney chairs in front of a log fire, where you can consider our menu while enjoying one of our local cocktails, Orkney beers, gins, or malt whiskies.

We pride ourselves on great food with a casual dining atmosphere where our front of house staff are always on hand to make sure you have a perfect evening. Children are very welcome at all times and we have lots of healthy options for them to choose from. You can even take your favourite pooch to join you for a meal!

We are also perfect for large parties with a full capacity of up to 80 in one sitting in our main restaurant area. But for that more intimate special celebration you can hire our private dining room "Aurora Borealis" which can seat up to 30 people and, with its stone archways and glass doors looking out onto the main restaurant, you can still feel part of the overall atmosphere. If you wish to book a large group please contact Gayle Grieve, our manager, with your details and she will be delighted to give you a quote.
