A cosy self catering cottage for two in a private cliff top location on Eday.

The Ruah is a cosy self catering cottage for two in a private cliff top location on the south-east of the island of Eday. The renovated croft is part of Green Farm which has its own sandy beach and plenty of open space.

The Ruah is available all year and is ideal for walking, bird watching, cloud spotting, star gazing, rock pooling, daydreaming - or maybe just relaxing. There’s a walled yard to the front of the cottage with a picnic bench and uninterrupted views of the sea and neighbouring islands. If you’re lucky, you might see otters, grey seal pups in the autumn, and even the Northern Lights in winter.

The old farm buildings to the west of the cottage house the remains of an original Orcadian sailed windmill and a wooden threshing machine – as well as our flock of free-range hens.

The Ruah has excellent modern facilities including a multi fuel cooker, microwave and fridge. There’s a small TV/DVD player in the lounge area, a radio/CD player in the bedroom and washer/dryer in the shower room. WiFi is available but limited to email and web browsing rather than streaming. Should you wish to have the WiFi removed during your stay, this can also be arranged.

Eday has a post office and a well stocked shop where you’ll find all you need for a self-catering holiday - a wide range of groceries, bread, frozen and convenience foods, fresh fruit, vegetables, beer, wines and spirits and fuel.

A 'Meet & Greet' service is available at the pier or airport if arriving without a vehicle, and the property manager is always on hand should you require anything during your stay.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Ruah on Green Farm.
