New for 2024 - Newly refurbished and equipped to a very high standard The Hen Hoose is a detached single-storey property with two bedrooms, both with en-suite situated within the parish of Birsay. Suitable for up to four guests.
Overlooking the Loch of Banks in the parish of Birsay, The Hen Hoose provides the perfect base to explore Mainland Orkney and ideally suits those wishing to be in a quiet, rural setting. Your own transport will be essential for your stay.
The kitchen and living room are open plan and provide a comfortable social space in which to enjoy cooking, dining and relaxing. Quality appliances and utensils include an induction hob, single main oven and separate combi oven/microwave, fridge-freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher and washing/dryer machine.
The sitting area features two generous leather sofas from where you can choose to either watch the 65-inch smart tv, read a book, or simply take in the westerly view out of the gable-end large patio door window. The Hen Hoose living area is heated by oil-fired underfloor heating and a Jøtul wood-burning stove which makes it extra cosy and warm when the wild weather hits in the colder months and the perfect backdrop to enjoy a locally sourced gin or whisky.
There are two bedrooms, both with en-suites featuring wet-room showers. The master bedroom en-suite also has a bath. A separate guest wc preserves the privacy of the bedrooms. Complimentary toiletries are provided.
Externally, there is generous parking for several cars and a fenced lawn surrounds the property. There are also Caithness flagstone patio areas with garden furniture and barbecue facilities provided.
The Hen Hoose is close to the owners' property but separated by a barn and is therefore, private and not overlooked.
