Due to Covid-19, the St Magnus Centre is currently closed and it is anticipated that it will re-open on a restricted basis on 1 September, although this is subject to review.

Visit the St Magnus Centre to find out more about the neighbouring St Magnus Cathedral.

The St Magnus Centre was added to the original cathedral church hall to provide both the congregation and local community with extra facilities. This was completed in 2001 to award-winning standards.

The Centre has many uses, with its daily function being the main visitor centre for St Magnus Cathedral - a 15-minute film on the history of St Magnus and the cathedral is shown throughout the summer months (April-September).

As well as a souvenir/gift shop, we provide a self-service cafe for light refreshments and free WiFi connection for customers.

The centre also provides meeting rooms and hall facilities for a wide range of organisations, both local and from all around the UK. We take pride in the high standard of the building and equipment we provide to ensure that any event - from the smallest meeting to the larger, more corporate multi-day events - meet all of our customer's needs.

Add to that our customer parking and outstanding disabled facilities, it is not surprising that many have commented on the St Magnus Centre being one of the 'best-kept secrets' in Kirkwall.
