Inspired by the landscapes, history and culture of Orkney and Scotland, Sheila’s designs are known for their distinctive use of colour, often reflecting Orkney’s sea, sky and land.

Our skilled craftspeople create each piece using traditional jewellery-making techniques. Every collection begins as a sketch before being brought to life in three dimensions. Colour is central to Sheila’s designs, with our talented enamellers hand-applying finely ground glass to each piece, continuing the ancient tradition of vitreous enamelling. Gemstones are expertly hand-set before each piece is carefully polished, assembled and quality-checked to ensure the highest standard.

After studying at Edinburgh College of Art in 1963 and gaining years of experience in the jewellery industry, Sheila founded her business in 1993. Today, it remains family-run, with Sheila, her son Martin and his wife Mairi helping lead a team of over 100 employees. Sheila has designed and launched over 100 collections and received numerous awards.
