Rymmon Lodge is ideally located for those seeking a peaceful rural retreat.

The lodge is open for business as per Scottish Goverment guidelines. There is current late availability 18th to 25th July.

Rymmon is situated in a rural position and is self contained giving you peace of mind that you are largely on your own. The owners live within walking distance and will greet you and show you how everything operates. In an attempt to keep us all safe and well social distancing will be adhered to and masks worn at this time.

Thereafter any contact will be limited to assisting you if there is a requirement to do so. We are asking for a later arrival time than we would normally do. This will ensure we have plenty of time to do a thorough clean between guests. We ask that you now arrive at 4pm. We felt this was a better option than asking you leave earlier in the morning departure date.

The Lodge is located in Evie, a 30 min drive from Kirkwall or Stromness, the two main towns on the Orkney Mainland.

The lodge is well equipped, comfortable and has gas central heating. The feature BBQ/seating area is a great facility for spending time outdoors during the long summer evenings and there is also a fire pit to make the experience more enjoyable. Logs can be purchased from the site owners.

If the weather is unkind there are a range of books, DVD’s and a toy box to help keep all ages entertained. Children are welcome and the surrounding area is an ideal and safe playground. The lodge has its own shed where outdoor clothing, cycles etc. can be stored.

Situated within walking distance of Swanney Loch, there is free Brown Trout fishing available for enthusiasts and contact details for local boat and ghillie hire can be provided on request.

The Birsay moors, an RSPB reserve also provides the view to the side of the lodge and there are regular sightings of hen harrier and short eared owl along with numerous other birds such as curlew, Redshank and Lapwings which favour the rough grassland around the lodge site.

Evie has a sandy beach just a short drive away and the lodge also has on site cycle hire for those wishing to be more adventurous.

Local facilities such as shopping, fuel, GP and Post Office are within 15-20 minutes’ drive away. It is an ideal base to explore the many attractions of the West Mainland and the ferry terminal to the island of Rousay is also within easy reach.

A welcome pack containing local produce is included in the cost.

Parking for two cars is available alongside the lodge.

Short breaks can be provided from Sept to April (out with peak season).
