I established Robin Palmer Ceramics in September 2012 and my work is inspired by Orkney, the islands and the surrounding environment.

I graduated from Gray’s School of Art in July 2004 with a BA (Hons) in Design and Craft. Since then I have worked a variety of jobs, but always had a passion for Ceramics & Design.

I taught part time ceramic classes in a studio run by Aberdeen City Council called Whitespace, but have never had a studio of my own. Then, in 2012, I moved to Inverness and took the opportunity to create my own studio where I worked and taught for five years. Since then I have moved to Orkney where I continue to create new pieces influenced by the beautiful surroundings of the land and sea. My work is inspired by the forms, shapes and colours found in the sea, sand and land of Orkney.

I also offer pottery classes from my studio, based in Kirkwall close to Ortak's base in the town - check out my official website for more details.
