I established Robin Palmer Ceramics in September 2012 and my work is inspired by Orkney, the islands and the surrounding environment. At present please contact me to arrange any visits by calling 07824 557458

I graduated from Gray’s School of Art in July 2004 with a BA (Hons) in Design and Craft. Since then I have worked a variety of jobs, but always had a passion for Ceramics & Design.

I taught part time ceramic classes in a studio run by Aberdeen City Council called Whitespace, but have never had a studio of my own. Then, in 2012, I moved to Inverness and took the opportunity to create my own studio where I worked and taught for five years. Since then I have moved to Orkney where I continue to create new pieces influenced by the beautiful surroundings of the land and sea. My work is inspired by the forms, shapes and colours found in the sea, sand and land of Orkney.

I teach pottery classes from my studio which you can find in Kirkwall beside Ortak jewellery studio on Garrison Road - check out my official website for more details.

Workshops

Introduction to pottery taster session

These pottery taster sessions are one-to-one or small group classes with Robin held over two hours. Sessions can be tailored to whatever the attendees would like to try, but generally would involve time on the throwing wheel, some hand-building (pinch pot, slab building or coiling), and if there is time, a decorative tile.

The sessions are available for all skill levels, including those keen to try pottery for the first time or folk interested in brushing up on existing skills.

When: Sessions are available on request throughout the year.

Booking: Book your space via email or by phoning 07824 557 458.

More info: Sessions cost £60 for one person, increasing by £20 for each additional person up to a maximum of four. Contact Robin directly if more spaces are needed. Visit Robin's official website for more information.
