Rendall's Bakery began in 1979 when George Rendall's father John, who lived in Westray and worked at Brown's, moved into Kirkwall and started up his own bakery.

When he retired, the running of the business was taken over by George and his wife Ruth who are now joined in the business by their own children Katie and Greg.

They have recently won Regional prizes at the Scottish Baker of the Year awards for their Caramel Doughring and Shortbread.
