Orkney Star Island Soap is a small local business which I run from my cottage beside the glorious Mill Bay in Stronsay.

My lovely hand-made soap is unique to Orkney and to me. It 's made using the traditional cold-process method. It complies with EU cosmetic regulations and I always test out all my new soap recipes and creations personally. I carefully create my recipes to include vegetable oils that respect the delicate balance of the skin and perfumes that appeal to the senses. That 's why they 're so luscious, lathery, smell great and help care for your skin.

I also spin island fleeces on my spinning wheel and create wallhangings, bags, rugs and much more from my hand-made yarns.

I tend to think you 're going to love my hand-made soaps and textiles every bit as much as I really loved making them for you.

Soaps and textiles are available from my online shop: www.orkneystarislandsoap.co.uk

Other outlets include: Olive Bank & Post Office (Stronsay), Odin Stone (Kirkwall), and various other outlets throughout Orkney during the Summer months, including craft fairs.

I love making and using real soap and that is why I am so happy to offer my range of cold-processed bars. All my soaps are carefully made to my own recipe with ingredients to help care for your skin. All my soaps have been passed by a qualified independent chemist in compliance with EU law. No animal products are used and I always test each new batch myself. I 'm totally inspired by my island environment and like to use local ingredients whenever possible. I feel soap should be fun, full of bubbles, lather, good quality, colourful, smell great and keep skin in tip top condition.

My other passion is textiles. I hand-spin our local fleeces, my favourite being our rare, native seaweed-eating North Ronaldsay breed. From my handspun yarns I then create wallhangings, bags, scarves and much more as unique one-of-a-kind pieces. I hand dye, felt, knit, crochet, weave in my designs. Inspired by my natural surroundings, my textiles are fun, quirky, unique, colourful, practical, whimsical and made with respect and care.

If you are looking for lovely quality hand-made soaps or textiles with a little bit of island magic infused into each one, then look no further, you have come to the right place.
