With often wild weather and four seasons in a single day, Orkney can be a challenging place to grow a garden. But there are still plenty of green-fingered enthusiasts across the county who beat the elements every year to create some beautiful spaces - and the Orkney Garden Festival aims to let everyone enjoy them.

Featuring open gardens and tours, as well as illustrated talks and workshops, the Orkney Garden Festival has become a much loved small event. It also helps raise funds for Friends of the Neuro Ward at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and Perrenial.
