Giving the past a presence now and for the future.

Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology (ORCA) offers both terrestrial and marine cultural heritage services which are cost effective and efficiently delivered by its experienced and well qualified team.

Located in one of the most archaeologically significant parts of the United Kingdom, ORCA is housed within the University of the Highlands and Islands Archaeology Institute in Orkney. ORCA work with the construction industry, utility companies, energy developers, the public sector and community outreach programmes. ORCA have been closely involved with several marine renewable energy developments in Orkney waters, the Pentland Firth and off the Western Isles, as well as subsea cable and gas pipeline projects off Shetland and in the North Sea, and with electricity infrastructure projects such as the construction of grid cable connections and converter stations.
