There’s so much to do in Westray – birdwatching opportunities abound with over 100,000 seabirds including razorbills, guillemots & gannets and the Castle o' Burrian is known to be one of the best and easiest places to see puffins with as many as 200-300 nesting birds. Seals can also be viewed around the island. Wonderful beaches, cliffs, Noltland Castle and the Links of Noltland dig (where the Westray Wife Neolithic figurine was discovered in 2009) are among the other places of interest. Westray also has a play park and a nine hole golf course with perhaps the longest golf hole in the UK measuring 738 yards! The rare Primula Scotica is also to be found here. The Westray Photos facebook page is well worth a look.
