Welcome to Millbrig, a traditional stone built cottage with a flagstone roof.
We are still taking bookings for Spring/Summer 2021, working to ensure compliance with COVID-19 advice and requirements for the safety of our guests.
The cottage is situated at the North end of Kirbister Loch so there is trout fishing nearly on the doorstep. A burn flowing down from Ward Hill forms a boundary with a small waterfall at one end and flowing under and attractive stone bridge at the other before reaching the loch.
There are many birds to be seen around the cottage, robins, wrens and blackbirds in the garden, swans in the loch, curlew, geese, lapwings and the short-eared owl in the fields around.
It is about 10 - 15 minutes drive to Kirkwall in one direction and Stromness in the other and only a few minutes drive away from beautiful Waulkmill Bay on Scapa Flow.
There is so much to see and do; trout fishing; visiting the archeological sites; following the craft trail; museums and art galleries and dining out on delicious local food in the numerous eating places. Or stay at home in a peaceful cottage and enjoy the views.
