Under new ownership as of May 2022, the Hamnavoe restaurant will be re-opening its doors for dinner in mid June, 2022.

Hamnavoe, meaning “safe harbour” in Old Norse, lies in the heart of the picturesque, historical town of Stromness, tucked away down an old flagstone lane just beyond the town’s main thoroughfare.

Having been a popular restaurant for many years, the site will reopen under new management in June, 2022. Our menu will be a modern take on Orkney’s world class seafood and meat, with a strong nod to the Korean heritage of the chef. We will also offer a pleasing selection of drinks, with a wine list exclusive to the islands.

UPDATE: We are running a takeaway lunch service from 12pm to 3pm, Friday 10th June to Sunday 12th June. Please feel free to follow us on instagram @hamnavoechef for updates on opening times and our full restaurant opening.

Our menu features Orkney seafood and meat but is vegetarian and vegan friendly.
