A lass from Westray who loves to write local history books and create artwork from a variety of unspun wool and mixed media.

I am a resident of Westray, in the Northern isles of Orkney.  I grew up here and my roots go back many hundreds of years.  I am fanatical about local history and love to capture memories from the islands, writing  local history books to preserve our culture.

Having lived in a variety of areas of the UK, I chose to come home to Westray to retire and  find peace in the islands.  My artwork developed in 2024 after falling in love with wool and needle felting.  I like to capture nature, animals and the local wildlife, along with being influenced by the changing enviroments in Orkney.  I love using various mixed media embelishments to enhance some pictures.  I often use shells and stones, especially our local Groatie Buckies.  I enhance landscapes with natural treasures such as dried flowers and plants, along with other embelishements.

In 2025, I opened my studio in Westray to show and sell my artwork and books, along with crafts and gifts made by friends and family, especially supporting young talent and new crafters.  My studio and shop is based in my home in the heart of Pierowall village, looking across the bay to Papa Westray.

Come and visit me and see my studio, and then sit on the benches outside and take in the amazing view and the bustle of village life.
