The house is furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard and boasts traditional Orcadian style yet contemporary accommodation for an Orkney Island getaway that will delight you and bring you back again and again. The owner has an interest in showcasing the best of local art and that adds a special character. The rooms are light and spacious with a real luxurious feel, idyllic for relaxing during your stay.
The spacious and well equipped kitchen provides for the keen cook. A welcome pack of local baking and snacks ensures you can spend your time relaxing on arrival from long journeys. All food provisions are short walk away at the excellent delicatessen, baker and butcher, as well as a Co-operative store and a fresh fish counter a bit further away as well as restaurants, bars, art galleries and craft shops. You will find picnic-ware, thermos flasks and a cool bag available for sunny summer day's outings.
There is a store shed for cycles and rod and crabline for off the end of the pier fishing. Sea and loch fishing can be arranged. Walk south from the house to see seals and birdlife and along the coastal path to the dramatic Atlantic west cliffs with views of Hoy and the Old Man. If you are lucky perhaps a pod of whales.
