A trip back in time to how life would have been in the beautiful Rackwick valley.

There are lots of reasons to visit Rackwick in Hoy; stunning scenery, perfect isolation, a stunning sweep of sparkling sand and the walk to the Old Man of Hoy. The Cra'as Nest Museum is another attraction, but it can be easily missed.

Tucked away on the hillside on the walking route to the Old Man near the Rackwick Hostel, this collection of old buildings has been restored to its original state, showcasing life here in the early 18th century. The traditional croft and steading has two box beds and a dresser, as well as a byre and barn with a kiln for drying oats.

It's a simple but fascinating site to visit in amongst the numerous splendours of Rackwick.
