The perfect place to spot puffins in Orkney.

This squat sea stack is the prime puffin-spotting destination in the islands. Off the east coast of Westray, a short walk leads you to the Castle o'Burrian which, between late April and mid August, is packed with nesting puffins. Up to 300 birds can be seen on the stack, with the neighbouring cliffs providing the perfect vantage point.

Take a pair of binoculars and your camera to get a real close-up view. You can continue along the coast for a nice walk too, if you can tear yourself away from the Castle's colourful characters.
