Buchanhaven Holidays is a self catering cottage that has been designed to be dementia friendly.  Buchanhaven was built and opened in  2013 in memory of Marilyns parents (her dad suffered from dementia before he died). Marilyn  worked as a nurse for over 25 years mainly in dementia settings and is one of Scotlands first Dementia Champions. Buchanhaven Cottage is situated on the outskirts of Kirkwall and offers lovely views over the town.  The accommodation comprises 1 twin bedroom with double sofa bed in sitting room. Extra small single bed and travel cot can be provided. The cottage is open to anyone who wishes to holiday in Orkney and is within easy walking distance to Kirkwall town centre. Pubs, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and leisure centre are all nearby.
