Brymire House is centrally located for the airport, ferries, towns and tourist attractions; 2 miles from Kirkwall Airport, 5 miles from Kirkwall, 12.5 miles from St Margarets Hope and 20 miles from Stromness. This former croft house has unique and charming features and is a real home from home. The minimum stay is four nights and you really require this booking length or longer to justify and appreciate all that Orkney has to offer its guests.

Brymire House is tranquil, clean and comfortable and is in a great location with lovely views. Renovated to a high standard, the house is well equipped and has beautiful decoration, carpets, vinyl and furniture and is heated by two air source units. Each room has a colour scheme reflective of Orkney; the main bedroom with king size bed is “Aurora” themed, the second bedroom with bunk beds reflects Orkney’s shore and sand stone and evening skies, the third with a day sofa bed feature’s Orkney’s shoreline and skies, the open plan living room/kitchen summer/autumnal Orkney with cheeky hints of copper reflecting it’s many distilleries, the bath/shower room sand, seaweed and rocky shoreline and there is a utility area featuring Orkney’s crystal clear light and sparkling sea and amenities are a washing machine and tumble drier. Also featured throughout the property are canvas prints featuring Orkney scenes and nature. With a rural property, there is wildlife and nature on the doorstep; owl, hare, the Orkney vole, rabbit, pheasant, geese, song birds and often hen harriers.

There is a very well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge freeze, microwave and dishwasher. Smart TV’s are available in the living room and the two main bedrooms and with your own app subscription you can view e.g. Netflix and YouTube. There are three steps to the front door and one step into the living room and the two main bedrooms and two steps to the utility area. In the entrance hall there is the unique feature of a curved wall.

Attached to Brymire House is a secure storage shed for e.g. kayaks, bikes etc and there is an area for hanging and drying outdoor clothing also.

I am an experienced host and already provide self catering accommodation at the next door property, Brymire Cottage. With two self catering properties in close proximity to each other and each with their own private space, I can offer, if bookings allow, grandparents and the son/daughters’ family their own private holiday accommodation and yet they can holiday together or alternatively, two families wishing to holiday close together.
