Art & craft classes, exhibitions & shop next to the beach at Osmundwall on the island of Hoy.
Visitors will enjoy browsing the summer exhibition in this small gallery overlooking the beach, and taking time to choose from a small selection of arts & crafts on display in the little shop. Sit & enjoy the view of the bay while enjoying a mug of hot tea & a slice of homebaked cake.
Why not get creative & take part in an art workshop inspired by these lovely surroundings. Classes are suited to beginners & are held in the Sun Room with an incredible view of the sea & white sand beach of Kirk Hope at Osmundwall, Hoy. There are also local crafts, ceramics, designer knitwear, cards & gifts.
Just outside the gallery is the quiet beach which features in the Orkneyinga Saga which tells the tale of Vikings coming ashore here to attempt to convert pagan islanders to Christianity. Visitors can sit on the Viking seat and see a panoramic view of other islands, towards Scapa Flow & the Pentland Firth. A circular walk takes in Cantick Head & Lighthouse and the southern shore of Hoy with spectacular views to the Scottish mainland.
Note that Covid-19 restrictions mean that we are closed for the 2020 season.
