Our Inspiration Days are the perfect way to nurture your soul & awaken your creativity. These creative workshops include drawing exercises & creative journalling and you'll be able to play with a huge variety of different materials, all provided here at the studio, so you can really experiment and create.
Creative Activities
We offer a wide range of fun activities for all skill levels, including making love spoons, monoprinting, soft jewellery, slow stitching and watercolour introductions. Holiday classes can also be arranged to suit your dates. Just get in touch to start your creative journey with us.
Visitors will enjoy browsing art on show in this small gallery overlooking the beach, and taking time to choose from a small selection of arts & crafts on display in the little shop. (Open by appointment)
History
Just outside the gallery is the quiet beach featured in the Orkneyinga Saga which tells the tale of Vikings coming ashore here to attempt to convert pagan islanders to christianity. Visitors can sit on the Viking seat and see a panoramic view of other islands, towards Scapa Flow & the Pentland Firth. A circular walk takes in Cantick Head & Lighthouse and the southern shore of Hoy with spectacular views to the Scottish mainland.
Pets welcome
Small, well-behaved pets on leads are welcome in the gallery area, but the space isn’t suitable for larger or louder dogs. Dogs can be tied at the gate outside in full view of the gallery and the nearby beach and coastal trail are perfect for a walk. Owners are welcome to top up their water bottles and dog bowls from the outside drinking water tap.
