3 Melvin Place is the childhood home of Orkney poet, the late George Mackay Brown. A historic terraced property situated off the main through road of the town and close to the centre, this house has been renovated throughout to a high standard to provide comfortable and cosy accommodation for up to five people in two double bedrooms and one single bedroom.

A fully equipped kitchen forms part of an open plan living space with comfortable seating and a multi-fuel stove. The stove is an option for you to use as the building has electrical heating throughout.

The house is within easy reach of all that the historic town of Stromness has to offer: ferry terminal and picturesque seafronts, swimming pool, museum, shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, golf course and coastal walks. You'll be a short drive or bus ride to the World Heritage Site, the Heart of Neolithic Orkney, where you'll find Skara Brae, Maeshowe and the Ring of Brodgar.
