Excellently located in the centre of Kirkwall, which is the largest town situated in the heart of the Orkney mainland and therefore a fantastic base from which to explore Kirkwall's historic sites, St Magnus Cathedral, Earls Palace, Scapa beach, Highland Park, and Scapa Whisky Distillery, or just a 25 minutes drive you arrive in the heart of Neolithic Orkney, Skara Brae, Masehowe, Standing Stones of Stenness or head to the East Mainland of Orkney to the Italian Chapel, Churchill Barriers from the WW2 and lots more.

There are regular boat trips daily from Kirkwall harbour to the outer North isles of Orkney, where you can explore places such as Shapinsay, Westray, Papa Westry, Eday, Stronsay, Wyre, and Rousay.
