Lifeguard

Swimming plays an important role in the health and wellbeing of our community, and as we prepare for the reopening of the Pickaquoy Centre pool, we're looking for new Lifeguards to help support the safe return of this valued service.

Whether you're already qualified or looking to undertake training, this is an opportunity to take on a rewarding role, gain nationally recognised qualifications and develop valuable skills that will stay with you for life. From communication and teamwork to emergency response and first aid, Lifeguards play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for pool users of all ages. 

As a Lifeguard, you'll be at the heart of one of the community's most valued facilities, helping people stay active, learn essential life skills and enjoy the benefits of swimming in a safe environment. It is a role with real responsibility, offering the opportunity to make a positive difference every day and develop skills that could one day help save a life.

Applicants who already hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) are encouraged to apply. 

Full training will also be provided for successful candidates who do not currently hold the qualification, with all training delivered in-house through the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS). Please see the full course details and dates in the Supplementary Information below.
