Hatston industrial units
Six new industrial units for the renewable energy sector were completed at Hatston in 2012.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) invested £2.95 million, including £1.18 million from the European Regional Development Fund, to create these next to Hatston Pier, Kirkwall.
Each unit provides workshop, storage and office accommodation to meet the needs of tidal energy developers using the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) test site off the island of Eday. They were all flexibly designed to be adaptable to the needs of individual businesses.
Three are currently available for lease.

Innovation Centre - Orkney
The Innovation Centre on Hatston Pier Road provides modern office and workshop accommodation for innovative companies working across the renewables sector.
