Found in the heart of Balfour village, the Smithy is owned and run by the local community and offers a wide range of breakfast, lunch and light bite options, as well as hot drinks and Orkney beers and spirits.

Housed in the island's former blacksmith's building, the Smithy re-opened in June 2023 and has quickly become a vibrant hub for islanders, and it offers a warm welcome to visitors hopping over on the ferry from Kirkwall too.
