The Eday Heritage Centre is housed in a beautifully renovated former Baptist Chapel, meaning historical connections are maintained both inside and out. It opened in 2008 after years of community effort and is home to all kinds of interesting information and artefacts from the island's history.

Exhibitions include working models, information on the European Marine Energy Centre and its nearby tidal test site and plenty of documents, photos and digital presentations about the island. There's also a display focused on the Eday Oral History Project. The archive has been donated by local residents and has proved invaluable to those wanting to trace their family history, ancestry and genealogy.

The centre is open between 9.30am-3.30pm from May to September.
