A new film focused on the Ness of Brodgar will receive its premiere in Orkney in January 2026.
During 2024’s final season of major excavation, film-maker Lucy Carr-McClave was on site at the Ness of Brodgar capturing elements of the dig. After going through hours of recorded footage, Lucy has created a beautiful and poignant record of the Ness project – as seen through the eyes of some of the many people involved.
Her finished film, What’s Left Lasting: People, Process & Time at the Ness of Brodgar, will premiere at a special event in the Orkney and will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The free event is on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Orkney Theatre, Kirkwall, from 6.45pm. There is no need to book – just turn up on the night.
Please note: This will be an in-person event only, although, at some point in the future, Lucy may make the film available online.
