To coincide with the Stromness Museum's current exhibition ‘Powered By People: Orkney's Renewable Energy Story’, a new Stromness Energy Safari walking trail has been created by Orkney-based Tern360.com

The Stromness Energy Safari uncovers Stromness’ extraordinary role in the story of energy — from coal merchants and kelp briquettes to sea-powered turbines and hydrogen innovation.

At each of the 11 sites across Stromness, locals and visitors can solve puzzles, uncover hidden facts, and find rune slates — all leading to cracking a code and becoming a certified Stromness Energy Explorer.

The trail was developed in partnership by Tern360, Stromness Museum and Community Energy Scotland. Guides cost £3 from Stromness Museum, with 50p from each sale supporting local projects.
