Excavation work at The Cairns site in South Ronaldsay begins again this summer, and members of the public are welcome along.
Almost three years since the site was last covered over, excavation at The Cairns is due to resume this summer.
Work at the Iron Age broch began back in 2006 and the dig has revealed some fascinating finds, with structures dating right through to the Norse period uncovered.
Archaeologists and students will be back on site from June 13 right through until July 8. During the excavation period the site will be open to the public on weekdays between 10am and 4pm. There will also be a special open day on Friday, July 1.
