Stromness Museum have a Free Entry Day for families with children this Saturday 16th November 2024. Opening hours are 11.00am-3.30pm.

Come and see the new exhibition ‘Seaweed Secrets’, which explores our extensive collection of pressed seaweed specimens collected between 1839 and 1962, and how these have inspired artists to create new works.

As part of this, we are showcasing and selling pieces from Orkney designer Sheila Fleet’s latest jewellery collection ‘Sea Moss’, inspired by Stromness Museum’s seaweed samples collected by ‘Gunner’ during World War One.
