During the dark evenings this November, the streets of Stromness will be transformed into a free, spectacular gallery of illuminated artworks for all to enjoy and explore.

'Stromness Glimmers: A Festival of Light' will feature work by members of the local Móti Collective and other Orkney-based artists as part of a three-night walking trail, made up of video projections and sculptural light art installations that will reimagine the streets of Stromness, bringing art to the whole community.

Supported by Orkney Islands Council's Culture Fund, the festival will be held between 12 - 14 November 2026, and is named from the closing line of the beautiful reflective poem ‘Lux Perpetua’ by Stromness’s very own ‘Poet Laureate’, George Mackay Brown – ‘By such glimmers we seek you.’

More information on artworks and festival locations will be available soon via the Móti Collective website.
