Visit this special excavation in Orkney's north isles.

Archaeologists have been busy uncovering Neolithic and Bronze Age structures at Spurness in Sanday, and the team will host an open day on Saturday 8 August 2026 to showcase the site and its discoveries.

Head along to the site between 10am and 4pm to find out more and meet some of the experts working at the dig. Tours of the site will be available every 30 minutes. You'll find the excavation just off the Loth Road on the west side of the Bay of Stove.
