A long weekend of music, food and ale, Viking style

The Royal Hotel Stromness plays host to 2019 Orkney Ale Festival, with the SMUHA 2019 Jarl Squad in attendance throughout.

Ale fest opens 4pm on Thursday 24th October running til 9pm on Sunday 27th.

The Orktoberfest programme includes: traditional music sessions on Thursday evening, Viking feast on Friday evening followed by live local bands, a fiery Viking procession and galley burning on Saturday, live bands til late at the Royal, BBQ , session tunes and Viking games on Sunday.

The torch procession is open to all, torches can be purchased, and places in the parade booked in advance with all proceeds to local charitable causes.
