Join the Stromness Museum, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and local groups and organisations to celebrate the launch of the new Orkney Snorkel Trail.

Whether you're a solo explorer open to making marine-minded mates or have the whole family and friends in tow, join this coastal community celebration of Orkney snorkelling.

The Stromness Museum and Scottish Wildlife Trust have been working closely with communities and businesses across Orkney to develop the Orkney Snorkel Trail - a self-led guide to exploring some of the best snorkel spots around Orkney.

This celebration event will be spread out between two locations, the Finstown car park and the Firth Community Centre, which are just a few minutes walk apart.

Outdoor events at Finstown Car Park will include:

  • Guided snorkelling (led by the fantastic Kraken Diving - to take part please book your spot seperately by contacting Kraken directly)
  • Bioblitz (from a Seasearch snorkel to rockpool ramble, together let's record as many different species as we can)
  • Coastal activities (connect with nature in fun, supportive setting)

Indoor events at Firth Community Centre will include:

  • Sea stalls (from crafters to conservationists, support the rich diversity of people and projects who are passionate about Orkney's marine area)
  • Indoor ocean activities (meet other marine-minded people, learn something new and get inspired by their passions)
  • Cuppas, cake and chit-chat also on the agenda!
