With a special book launch of HAND HELD by Mark Edmonds & Rebecca Marr

Just out of jail, crumpled English archaeologist Arthur reconnects with his wayward crew of tombaroli accomplices – a happy-go-lucky collective of itinerant grave-robbers who survive by looting Etruscan tombs and fencing the ancient treasures they dig up. If La Chimera is a wild, improbable pursuit, this marvellous and magical tale by Alice Rochrwacher is the pie in the sky to behold.

As an aperitif, and in keeping with the flavour of the main course, tonight’s film will be preceded by the launch of a new book by our own Mark Edmonds & Rebecca Marr. Entitled Hand Held, the book is a companion to After Orcadia, a collection of photographs and short poems that the pair produced in 2022.

Hand Held takes as its focus a small collection of Neolithic stone artefacts, found by Ronnie Simison in the forecourt of Isbister – The Tomb of the Eagles. Mark and Rebecca will introduce the book, and there will be a chance to buy a copy after the main feature. And as a demonstration that Mark spends too much time in the stone age, sales will be cash only!
