The Hoy Half Marathon is one of the most challenging, but rewarding, running tests in the UK!

The route from Rackwick to the North Walls school is both beautiful and extremely hilly, so this probably won't be your fastest half marathon time. But you do get to see some spectacular scenery as you tackle the course, with stunning views over Scapa Flow towards the Orkney mainland. You'll run past an ancient tomb, a white-tailed eagle eyrie and wartime gun batteries, making this one of the most unique events in Orkney's athletic calendar.

The race is held every June and is always incredibly popular. Make sure you're signed up to the mailing list to find out when the event will be held and to book your place as early as possible. Contact hoyhalf@gmail.com to add your name.

There is also a 5K family fun run on the day too.
