Orkney Natural History Society Museum and Scapa 100 presents an evening with the shipwreck HMS Royal Oak with Emily Turton, Project Leader of the HMS Royal Oak Survey.

The HMS Royal Oak has lain on the seabed of Scapa Flow for 87 years. On 14 October 1939 she was struck by four torpedoes fired by the German submarine U47, with the loss of 835 officers, men, and boys.

The volunteer team from Scapa 100 initiative has just finished its 2025-2026 survey of the wreck and will present their findings Join team members for an evening to hear their findings. The event will be followed by a Q&A session.
