SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’S FAVOURITE NEW BAND PLAY STROMNESS!

HARDWICKE CIRCUS @ STROMNESS TOWN HALL

Saturday December 17th @ 8.00pm

Following their triumphant main stage debut at the 2022 Glastonbury Festival, HARDWICKE CIRCUS make a welcome return to Stromness. Their debut LP ‘The Borderland’ received rave reviews and since then the band have released a live album recorded during a tour of UK prisons and have a second studio album due for release shortly. The band have cemented a reputation as the most exciting act to emerge from the UK in recent years. Having gained a large internet following and fans all over the UK through playing countless live shows, this band is set to take over the music industry and watching them live only enforces this belief.

Their sound brings comparisons with the brio of the E Street Band and the dark passion of classic Doors, but with plenty of British authenticity and perhaps even a hint of Dexy's in their horn-laden attack. Proudly based in the border town of Carlisle, they have toured with the Alabama 3 & Bob Geldof’s Boomtown Rats, played at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festivals, released two Eps, two albums and have secured a residency at the legendary Hope & Anchor in London. It's not just their ever-expanding army of fans that are voting with their feet. The band have the enthusiastic support of a remarkable triumvirate of rock and pop production gurus, working with the studio expertise of Peter Collins, the vastly experienced producer of countless giant names from Bon Jovi to Alice Cooper; Stephen Lipson, similarly respected for his work with the likes of Annie Lennox, Grace Jones and Frankie Goes To Hollywood; and Chris Tsangarides, whose resumé stretches from Thin Lizzy to Depeche Mode. With every new show, more and more fans get on board, because this is a group where there's so much to watch as well as to listen to. They play indie rock with a confident swagger that somehow manages to channel the post Altamont malevolence of the Stones and broodiness of the Doors into a modern indie vibe, a-la Futureheads and Vampire Weekend.
