Visit the Hall of Clestrain this weekend to discover the story of Orkney's Arctic explorer, John Rae.

The John Rae Society will host the open days on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, with tours of the building on offer. Visitors will be able to see the excavations within the Hall, through the concrete pigpen floors, and plenty of other nooks and crannies.

There will also be a chance to find out more about the Society's work at the site and its plans for the future. Head along between 10am and 4.30pm on both days. The Junction snack van will also be on hand with hot food, drinks, and refreshments. There will also be a chance to enter the Society's Christmas Lottery Draw with some fabulous prizes on offer.
